Louis Vuitton’s new creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, has
debuted his collection at Paris Fashion Week. And of the whole lot, the
new Petite Malle bag has grabbed our attention! Louis Vuitton has
sidelined large bag trend and made way for mini trunk-shaped bags for
its autumn/winter 2014 collection.
Unveiled
amidst high expectations on the Parisian catwalk, the rectangular
shaped Petite-Malle bags are distinctively designed in a range of
shades, fabrics as well as sizes. The treasure chest like look is
rendered by signature details like a fold over lid top, clasps and
buckles.
Appearing
like a super-stylish, portable vanity case, the must-have bag of the
forthcoming season dangles down the shoulders with a long leather strap.
These straps can be detached to transform it in to stylish box clutch too.
Daily Mail
also reported that a petite-malle bag in orange was seen hanging down
from supermodel Natalia Vodianova’s shoulder. She is the chosen one as
she is engaged to Antoine Arnault, son of Bernard Arnault, chairman of
LVMH. Also Bernard’s daughter, Delphine Arnault, was seen sporting the
new bag from the collection.
The bag can also be given a ephemeral makeover by covering it in
fabric to mask the shape edges and give a softer, typical bag-like
appearance.
The French fashion brand’s newest creative designer has hit bulls eye
with the bags from his first collection by going back to the LV’s roots
and paying tribute to its monogrammed trunks.
Nicolas Ghesquière closed the Paris Fashion Week with his first collection for Louis Vuitton at the Cour Carrée of the Louvre.
