M.anifest on Sarkodie Feud: ‘We’re Not Friends, But We’re Cool’

Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has shared insights into his relationship with Sarkodie, years after their highly publicized rap battle in 2016. In an interview on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, M.anifest revealed that while the two have resolved their differences, they maintain a polite but distant relationship.

“We’re not friends, but we’re cool,” M.anifest stated, making it clear that although the tension has subsided, their bond remains professional rather than personal.

The feud, which captivated fans of Ghanaian rap, began when Sarkodie released the track Bossy, proclaiming himself as the best in the game while indirectly referencing M.anifest. In response, M.anifest dropped God MC, a sharp diss that showcased his lyrical prowess. Sarkodie retaliated with Kanta, escalating the rivalry into one of the most memorable rap battles in Ghana’s music history.

M.anifest clarified during the interview that the beef was never staged or personal, describing it as a competition of lyrical skill. “It was purely artistic, not personal,” he explained, emphasizing their mutual respect as artists despite the fiery exchange.

While fans might have hoped for a closer friendship between the two rap icons, M.anifest’s comments underline the line between professional rivalry and personal connections in the music industry.
