Megan Thee Stallion Granted Extended Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez Until 2030

Megan Thee Stallion has secured an extended restraining order against Tory Lanez, ensuring legal protection until early 2030. This comes as the rapper, currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan in the feet, faces allegations of harassment via third parties.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard Bloom granted the order on Thursday after a hearing, dismissing arguments from Lanez’s attorney, Michael Hayden, who claimed that Lanez poses no threat due to his incarceration. The court found sufficient evidence supporting Megan’s claims that Lanez is coordinating online harassment and spreading misinformation about the case.

Megan initially obtained a temporary restraining order in November, citing instances where Lanez allegedly used surrogates to attack her credibility, including spreading false claims about missing evidence. Call logs from the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi reportedly support these accusations.

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted in December 2022 on three felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and negligent discharge of a firearm. Megan testified during the trial that Lanez shot at her feet while yelling for her to dance, following an argument after a party at Kylie Jenner’s home.

Megan’s career has flourished despite the incident, with multiple chart-topping hits and a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2021. Lanez, once a rising star with several Billboard top-10 albums, continues to appeal his conviction, though his motion for a new trial has been denied.

This extended restraining order marks another chapter in the high-profile case, reinforcing Megan’s stand against harassment and Lanez’s ongoing legal challenges.
