Megan Thee Stallion Earns Mental Health Champion of the Year Award

The Trevor Project honored Megan Thee Stallion with its 2025 Mental Health Champion of the Year Award on World Mental Health Day, October 10, recognizing her powerful advocacy for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC youth mental wellness.


Trevor Project CEO Jaymes Black praised Megan Thee Stallion as “a mental health champion in every sense of the word,” celebrating her raw honesty, bold advocacy, and unwavering support for vulnerable communities. The Grammy-winning rapper has consistently used her platform to destigmatize therapy and normalize conversations around mental health.


The Houston native serves as an extraordinary role model particularly for Black LGBTQ+ youth who face disproportionate mental health challenges. Despite experiencing personal turbulence throughout her career, Megan remains transparent about her own mental health journey, encouraging fans to prioritize self-care and seek professional support.


The Mental Health Champion recognition celebrates public figures who leverage their influence to support LGBTQ+ youth wellness.
