Moana Live-Action Teaser Finally Drops

The first highly anticipated Moana Live-Action Teaser has officially been released by Disney, offering fans a glimpse into the reimagining of the 2016 animated hit. The teaser confirms the theatrical release date for the film is set for July 10, 2026.

The trailer introduces the new Moana, played by Catherine Lagaʻaia, a 17-year-old from Sydney. She is seen performing the iconic song “How Far I’ll Go.” The cast also features the return of global star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reprising his original role as the demigod Maui.

The visually stunning footage, directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton), showcases the breathtaking island of Motunui and the ocean adventure that awaits. The adaptation will follow Moana as she sails beyond the reef to save her people.

With the release of the Moana Live-Action Teaser, the film is set to follow other successful Disney remakes, promising both familiar musical numbers and a fresh cinematic experience. The release comes after a delay that saw the animated sequel, Moana 2, released in late 2024.
