After a long hiatus Olumide Edwards Adegbolu, popularly known as Olu Maintain is back with a new single. The
new single it has been argued will launch the ‘Yahooze’ crooner back to
mainstream music especially with Olu having 2face on the single.
‘Cinderella’ is a fusion of highlife with pop. Both 2face and Olu
Maintain did justice to the song according to music critics which they
thought will make the single top music charts in a short time after its

down memory lane by sampling with great classic Nigerian Music.
Olu samples with ‘Eddie Quansa’ by the Peacock’s Guitar Band, the sound
track of the 90s popular sitcom, The New Masquerade, and interpose it
with lyrics from legendary Nigerian Highlife Maestro, Sir Victor
Uwaifo’s classic ‘Mami Water’.The single is Kenny Wonder’s production. Music pundits claim the song will resonate with older fans of Nigerian Music.The
Yahooze crooner is said to be presently down financially with his
landlord asking him to evacuate his apartment since he has not been able
to pay his rents.The singer who lives on Akin Osiyemi
street,Off Allen Avenue Ikeja, Lagos would have been thrown out of the
apartment by uniform men if not for the timely intervention of a good
neighbour.Olu Maintain’s career started in 1997 with a group
called Maintain. The group was made up of Olu and Tolu, his cousin but
the group split with both members going their different ways.
