Netflix releases “The Truth About Jussie Smollett?” on August 22, 2025. The documentary promises “new evidence” and features interviews with police, lawyers, and officials familiar with Smollett’s case.
Smollett’s 2021 conviction was reversed in 2024 on procedural grounds by the Illinois Supreme Court. Smollett claims the footage will show his 2019 attack wasn’t staged.
The 90-minute documentary comes from the producers of “The Tinder Swindler.”
