More music from Michael Jackson is on the way, according to his record company.

Nearly five years after Michael Jackson’s death he’s still releasing new music.

The King of Pop’s latest musical installment, “Xscape,” is due out in
May with preorders available on iTunes starting Tuesday, Epic Records
announced Monday.
The eight previously unheard tracks have been “contemporized” by some of today’s most celebrated music producers.

“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride
in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either
worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with,” the
label’s Chairman L.A. Reid said in the statement.
Timbaland leads the production pack, as he’s previously reported, and
is joined by Rodney Jerkins, who co-wrote and co-produced the album’s
title track, as well as Stargate, Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon and John
McClain, the Jackson estate’s executor.
“The producers have the “gravitas, depth and range to creatively engage with Jackson’s work,” Reid said. The new collection of Jackson’s music may not even be his last.

“Michael was always on the cutting edge and was constantly reaching out
to new producers, looking for new sounds,” the Epic release stated. “He
was always relevant and current. These tracks, in many ways, capture
that spirit. We thank L.A. Reid for his vision,” McClain said.

In fact, Reid “was granted unlimited access to the treasures
representing four decades of material on which Jackson had completed his
vocals,” the release included.
