Odumodublvck Explains His Controversial Call-Out of Peter Obi

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck (real name Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu) has clarified his recent social media call-out of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate. The rapper, known for his hit “Wotowoto Reasoning,” had earlier tweeted a request for Obi to make a video in support of his upcoming album The Machine is Coming, in return for the support he claimed to have given Obi during the election.

The tweet sparked backlash, with many criticizing Odumodublvck for using his music career as a platform to publicly demand a favor from the politician.

Odumodublvck Defends His Actions

In a follow-up tweet, the rapper addressed the backlash, providing his reasoning for the public call-out. He revealed that he was offered a significant amount of money to campaign against Peter Obi during the 2023 election, an offer that was so substantial it was something he had “never seen before in his life.”

While Odumodublvck did not go into specifics, he mentioned that he had “sacrificed his life” for Peter Obi, though he left the exact nature of that sacrifice unclear. This explanation did little to appease some fans, who remained dissatisfied with his public demands from the politician.

The controversy highlights the complexities of public figures using their platform for personal requests and the tension that can arise when political support and personal career interests intersect.
