Popular feminist and writer Ozzy Etomi deactivated her Twitter account on Saturday following the viral leak of alleged direct messages by her former friend, Max. The unverified chats sparked a major scandal, particularly because of Etomi’s association with Paystack co-founder, Ezra Olubi.
The alleged DMs claim Etomi called media personality Toke Makinwa a “runs girl,” admitted to marrying a man for financial stability, and confessed to cheating on her husband before pursuing a relationship with a woman. Furthermore, Max claimed Etomi attempted to join her “polycule” (a three-way relationship) with Olubi.
The leak followed Etomi publicly denying any current friendship with Max. The controversy is intertwined with Olubi, who is facing separate backlash over resurfaced offensive tweets regarding sexual interest.
