Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has expressed strong support for his former club to consider signing 20-year-old Colombian international Jhon Duran from Aston Villa. Vieira praised Duran’s attributes, describing him as unselfish, intelligent, and a player capable of elevating Arsenal’s attacking options.
Arsenal had been linked with several prominent forwards during the summer transfer window, including Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, and Dusan Vlahovic. Despite this, manager Mikel Arteta opted to maintain faith in Kai Havertz for the No. 9 role.
Reflecting on Duran’s performance, particularly against Bayern Munich, Vieira stated, “He’s the right player for Arsenal – quick, unselfish, solid in the air, technically skilled, and intelligent in his movement.” With these qualities, Vieira believes Duran could be an ideal addition to Arteta’s squad as they aim for further success.
