Peaky Blinders Sequel Series Gets Two-Season Order From Netflix and BBC

Netflix and the BBC have officially greenlit a Peaky Blinders sequel series with an unprecedented two-season order announced on Thursday, October 2, 2025, with creator Steven Knight returning and Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy serving as executive producer.

The Peaky Blinders sequel series will consist of six 60-minute episodes per season for a total of 12 episodes. Set in Birmingham in 1953, the new series will take place after the events of the upcoming feature film “The Immortal Man,” which is currently in post-production and stars Murphy reprising his role as Tommy Shelby.

Knight expressed his excitement about the announcement, stating “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes.” The Peaky Blinders sequel series will follow a new generation navigating the changing landscape of post-war Britain.

The original Peaky Blinders series ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2022, becoming one of the most successful British dramas in recent television history. Murphy’s portrayal of gang leader Tommy Shelby earned him critical acclaim and helped propel him to his Academy Award win for Oppenheimer in 2024.
