Director Chris Sanders, known for his work on family/adventure films like Lilo and Stitch, recently revealed that Pedro Pascal thoroughly enjoyed playing the character of Fink the Fox in the animated movie The Wild Robot, based on Peter Brown’s popular novel. Pascal, best known for his roles in Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian, felt that this character resonated deeply with his personality.
According to Sanders, Pascal’s playful and inventive approach to the role brought the mischievous fox to life. “He was so inventive and funny, with a very playful nature,” Sanders said, adding that Pascal felt a personal connection to Fink. “In one of the last recording sessions, he mentioned that this character is more him than many others he’s played,” the director shared during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Released on September 27, 2024, The Wild Robot has already captured the hearts of audiences, with Pascal’s voice work being a standout performance. He was joined by an impressive cast that includes Kit Connor, Bill Nighy, Ving Rhames, and Mark Hamill in other key roles.
The film, which follows the journey of a robot surviving in the wild, showcases the creativity and humor Pascal brought to the role of Fink, making it one of his most enjoyable roles to date.
