Hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams has expressed frustration with American celebrities who publicly endorse political candidates ahead of the upcoming presidential election. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Williams explained that he avoids politics and finds celebrity political endorsements annoying.
“I don’t do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for],” he said, adding that the opinions of many of these celebrities are unsolicited.
“There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you’,” Williams remarked.
While many celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish, have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump has also garnered support from figures like Elon Musk and Blac Chyna. However, Williams made it clear that he prefers to stay out of the political spotlight.
