Picasso’s ‘Buste de femme’ Set to Auction for Over $11M

A significant portrait by Pablo Picasso, Buste de femme (1944), is heading to auction at Christie’s in Hong Kong. The painting, which depicts his muse Dora Maar, is estimated to sell for between $11 million and $14 million.

This artwork is considered one of the largest and most compelling portraits of Maar to be offered at auction in recent history, having been in private collections for more than 25 years.

The piece captures a mix of wartime tension and optimism, reflecting the period it was created.
