Prince Harry Visa Row Case Closed with Sealed Ruling by US Judge

The legal case concerning Prince Harry’s US visa has been officially closed with a sealed ruling by Judge Carl Nichols. According to Mail Online, the judge filed the order at a Washington court after spending four months reviewing the Duke of Sussex’s immigration documents. The sealed order means that the details of the ruling and Harry’s immigration paperwork will not be made public.

The case was initially brought forward by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative US think tank, which questioned whether Prince Harry had lied on his visa application about his past drug use. In his memoir Spare and on his Netflix show, Harry admitted to using cannabis, cocaine, and magic mushrooms.

The Heritage Foundation sued the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after it refused to release Harry’s immigration files following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Judge Nichols reviewed the paperwork in private and issued a sealed ex parte order, meaning the public is unlikely to ever see Harry’s visa documents.

Although the ruling remains confidential, legal experts claim that sealed orders are not unusual in sensitive cases. Samuel Dewey, the lawyer representing the Heritage Foundation, commented that the order being sealed is neither surprising nor suggestive of wrongdoing.

This case had gained political attention, with former President Donald Trump hinting that he might revoke Prince Harry’s US residency if he wins the 2024 election. Despite the political implications, no further details about the outcome of the case were disclosed.
