Regé-Jean Page Reaffirms He Won’t Return to Bridgerton as Season 4 Nears Completion

Ever since Regé-Jean Page stole hearts as the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton Season 1, fans have been hoping for his return. However, the actor has once again confirmed that he has moved on from the Regency-era drama.

Regé-Jean Page on Leaving Bridgerton

Page originally stated in 2021 that his role was always intended to be a one-season arc, telling Variety“It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end — give us a year. That’s interesting, because then it felt like a limited series.” He later said he had no objections to the role being recast, emphasizing that he and producer Shonda Rhimes were happy with how his character’s story ended.

Now, while promoting his upcoming action film Black Bag, he was once again asked about a potential Bridgerton return. His response? “I’m very happy to support everyone who’s in the show. Everyone’s finding fantastic success both with the show and personal projects, and I’m just super happy to say that.”

James Bond Rumors?

Fans have also speculated that Page might be in the running for the next James Bond, but the actor downplayed the rumors, saying, “It’s not something I’ve thought about very much.”

Bridgerton Season 4 Update

Meanwhile, Bridgerton is pushing forward without Page. Season 4 is deep in production, with cast member Yerin Ha revealing, “We just finished block three and we’re heading into block four now, so the final stint of the long marathon. But it’s been so wonderful, and work has never felt like work—it’s just felt like playtime.”

While fans may never see the Duke of Hastings return, Bridgerton continues to thrive, proving that the Bridgerton family truly does roll on.
