Downey Jr – who starred in Marvel’s film franchise debut Iron Man in 2008 –
recently downplayed talks of a fourth Iron Man film, but expressed his
desire to remain a part of Marvel’s cinematic output once his current
contract expires after the third Avengers outing.

Filmmaking brothers Anthony and Joe Russo will return to direct following the
box office success of Captain
America: The Winter Soldier earlier on this year.
Marvel Studios have 11 releases scheduled until 2019, including next year’s Ant-Man,
starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.
Both Captain America and Iron Man will next be seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron
– the sequel to 2012’s Avengers Assemble – which is released on April 24.
