Soon after, the remainder of the tour was also canceled, prompting Rod Wave to speak out. He shared a heartfelt message to his fans on social media:
“To all my real fans thank you and I love you and I hope all the shit we been through you finally heal,” he wrote. He went on to add, “To the rest of y’all drag my name talk about me like a dog constantly speaking on me bashing me and what make me happy I don’t fw you… To the real fans that love me thank you this ain’t goodbye it’s simply see u later.”
Rod Wave also revealed plans to take a break from music, saying he would focus on traveling, finding love, raising kids, and possibly going back to school. His decision to take a hiatus comes amid increasing criticism and stress surrounding the tour cancellation.
Ari Lennox Calls Out Rod Wave’s Lack of Support
In a separate incident last year, Ari Lennox expressed frustration with Rod Wave after she was subjected to racist and violent treatment while opening for him on his 2023 Nostalgia Tour. Lennox shared her feelings on social media, recalling how she was pelted with a bottle by an audience member during her performance.
The Dreamville singer expressed disappointment that Rod Wave did not come to her defense, privately or publicly, despite the treatment she endured. She shared that this lack of support from him was particularly hurtful, especially given the public nature of her mistreatment.
Lennox also highlighted the importance of protecting openers on tour, urging headliners to step up and ensure the safety and respect of their supporting artists. She expressed that, moving forward, she would not open for another artist due to the negative experiences she faced.
