The highly popular Copenhagen-based brand ROTATE Birger Christensen has officially stepped into the footwear market, marking a major milestone with the launch of its first full, standalone shoe line. The ROTATE First Shoe Release collection, which debuted as part of the Spring/Summer 2026 runway show at Copenhagen Fashion Week in August 2025, allows the label’s devotees to finally wear a complete “top-to-toe Rotate” look.
While the brand, founded by influencers Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimars, previously engaged in successful footwear collaborations, this new collection is entirely in-house. The ROTATE First Shoe Release stays true to the brand’s bold and unapologetically sexy DNA. Key styles include daring animal-print slingbacks and strappy sandals, many adorned with the brand’s signature sculptural flower detailing and rosettes.
The new footwear range was designed to perfectly complement the SS26 ready-to-wear collection, which favored a softer, ’70s-inspired femininity. The shoes inject the necessary signature ROTATE attitude into the fluid, pastel-hued fabrics shown on the runway. This expansion confirms the founders’ vision of building ROTATE into a comprehensive lifestyle brand that can capture the full spectrum of their clientele’s glamorous needs.
The debut of the ROTATE First Shoe Release signals the brand’s confident growth from specializing in statement party dresses to becoming a fully realized fashion house. This move strategically positions ROTATE to capture a greater share of the luxury accessories market, ensuring that its distinct Scandi-glam aesthetic is now available in every piece of a woman’s wardrobe.
