Ademola Lookman has picked up a calf injury just as transfer rumours linking him to Inter Milan gather steam.
According to Italian outlet SOSFanta, the Nigerian international sustained the injury during a training session on Wednesday and is now set to undergo medical tests to determine the severity.
Early indications suggest the injury isn’t serious, but it will temporarily sideline the Atalanta forward from full team training.
Lookman, 27, has been heavily linked with a summer move to Serie A giants Inter Milan, with reports claiming that a personal agreement has already been reached between the player and Cristian Chivu’sside.
However, negotiations between Inter and Atalanta are still ongoing. Atalanta are reportedly holding out for a transfer fee in the region of €50 million.
Lookman enjoyed a stellar 2024/2025 season, further raising his profile after his standout performances for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations and his consistent form in Serie A.
While fans await updates on his fitness, it remains to be seen whether the injury will impact the pace or outcome of the potential high-profile transfer.
