Social Media Awards 2024: Brain Jotter, Mark Angel, and Tacha Shine in Digital Excellence Celebration

Chukwuemeka Amuzie, famously known as Brain Jotter, emerged as the Overall Best Social Media Content Creator at the 2024 Social Media Awards. The popular skit maker captivated audiences with his viral content inspired by Mike Ejeagha’s 1983 hit song, “Gwo gwo gwo ngwo.”

Other notable winners include comedy sensation Mark Angel, who clinched Best Facebook Content Creator, and former Big Brother Naija star Tacha (Anita Akide), recognized as Social Media Influencer of the Year. In the fintech space, Palmpay received accolades for its innovative use of social media on a financial technology platform.

Mr. Emmanuel Nwafor, the event’s convener, highlighted the awards’ broader societal vision, saying, “This year, we went beyond celebrating digital achievements. We introduced charity initiatives like hospital visits, donations to charity homes, and scholarships, emphasizing our commitment to societal impact.”

The 2024 edition introduced several new categories to reflect the dynamic nature of the digital space and featured non-votable awards to honor individuals using social media for philanthropy and societal change. Mr. Maxwell Nzekwe, the co-convener, remarked, “We’ve recognized influencers, philanthropists, and journalists who use their platforms to promote inspiring stories and create meaningful impact.”

With 37 diverse categories and initiatives aimed at offsetting hospital bills, sponsoring WAEC fees, and supporting students in need, the SMA 2024 cemented itself as more than just an awards show—it became a platform for inspiring and transforming lives.
