UK-based global music publisher Song Solutions has announced a major strategic development with the launch of its new publishing imprint, SEACHANGE. The new venture, announced today, is designed to revolutionize traditional music publishing by embedding values of shared success and social justice directly into its royalty model.
SEACHANGE aims to combine high-level publishing administration with a clear vision for social impact.
Central to this new approach is the introduction of two novel royalty streams: the ‘Team Fund,’ which promotes shared success by distributing income among all rostered writers, and the ‘Change Fund,’ which is dedicated to fuelling and funding initiatives focused on social justice and climate care.
Jamie Thomson, Head of Publishing and A&R at Song Solutions, stated that the new imprint is a response to a desire to “harness the power of songs to shape a fairer world.” The model seeks to ensure that royalty earnings actively “catalyse change, both in the world we live in and the creative communities we call home.”
The Song Solutions SEACHANGE Imprint is launching with a talented initial roster of writers including Elle Limebear, Jake and Mates, and Anna Hamilton. This move signals a significant moment for the industry, challenging conventional publishing norms and positioning SEACHANGE as an innovative, mission-driven home for songwriters.
