In an intense elimination round on Street Foodz Naija, the popular Nigerian docu-reality cooking series, Kehinde Oladele, known as ‘Taste Trails,’ has been evicted, leaving five contestants in the battle for the grand prize of N10 million.
The fifth season of Street Foodz Naija, which celebrates Nigeria’s vibrant street food culture, kicked off in October 2024 with 18 contestants from across the country. Following several rounds of challenges, the competition has now narrowed down to five finalists: Clara ‘Cla’J’ Ndubusi, Dickson ‘Aroma Afrik’ Gift, Ahaneku Murphy Tochukwu (Sylvers), Oluwatosin Osinuga (Deversatili), and Adedoyin Adefuye (Striitz).
Hosted by influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa, the show’s elimination took place live on Sunday in Victoria Island, Lagos, with judges Kunle Remi, Chef Tee, and food critic Opeyemi Famakin making the final call on Oladele’s eviction.
Series creator Oluwafemi Ogundoro shared that Street Foodz Naija, launched five years ago, was designed to empower and uplift young Nigerian street vendors, highlighting their skills and providing opportunities to transform their lives and communities. He emphasized that the series has become a platform for hope and empowerment, as well as entertainment.
Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, Lagos’ Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, attended the event, commending the contestants’ innovation and supporting the show’s vision to uplift Nigerian youth.
The competition will culminate on December 1, with the winner receiving N10 million and a culinary sponsorship from the Hospitality Business School (HBS).
