According to a study done by researchers at Dartmouth College, teens
are more likely to binge drink after listening to rap music, Daily Mail reports. The study’s findings claim that teens who listen to rap on an average
of 2.5 hours a day are exposed to about eight alcohol brand mentions. The teens are eager to get their hands on the favorite drinks of their idols, the study notes.”Every year, the average adolescent is exposed to about 3,000
references to alcohol brands while listening to music,” said lead author
and associate professor of medicine at Pittsburgh University Brian
Primack. Some of the songs’ artists called out in the study include 50 Cent,
who has referenced Bacardi Rum; Jay Z, who has mentioned Ace of Spades
in a few songs and Diddy, who always gives his Ciroc brand a shout out.
