Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen recently underwent a major surgery in Belgium after postponing the procedure several times to focus on guiding Nigeria’s qualification for the 2025 AFCON.
Sources close to Eguavoen revealed that the surgery was a success, and he is now set to follow up with the standard post-operative care. Despite his absence, preparations for the Super Eagles remain on track as Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede steps in to lead the CHAN Eagles in their crucial 2024 CHAN playoff against Ghana.
Eguavoen, who also serves as the NFF’s technical director, has been managing the Super Eagles in a temporary capacity while the federation searches for a permanent foreign coach.
With his health on the mend and the team’s plans in capable hands, fans are hopeful for a swift recovery for the coach and continued success for the Eagles on the pitch.
