The Super Falcons of Nigeria have touched down in Rabat as they gear up for their much-anticipated final showdown against hosts Morocco at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Fresh off their dramatic 2-1 semi-final win over defending champions South Africa on Tuesday night in Casablanca, the nine-time African queens arrived in the Moroccan capital on Wednesday, filled with confidence and focus.
Led by head coach Justine Madugu, the Nigerian squad will hold a training session today at the FUS Academie in Rabat, with the first 15 minutes open to media coverage. The team will then go behind closed doors for a final preparatory session on Friday.
The Super Falcons are aiming to lift their record-extending 10th WAFCON title on Saturday when they face a spirited Moroccan side hungry for their first-ever continental crown. The hosts secured their spot in the final after a tense semi-final victory over Ghana’s Black Queens, edging them 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in extra time.
All eyes now turn to the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, where two of Africa’s finest women’s football teams will battle it out for continental glory.
