Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department Returns to No. 1 on Billboard 200!

Taylor Swift has reclaimed her throne on the Billboard 200 as her album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), climbs back to the top spot. The deluxe Anthology edition, sold exclusively at Target, has driven sales through the roof, thanks to its collectible four vinyls and two CD sets that have fans rushing to snag the coveted bundle.

According to Variety, the new edition of TTPD moved an impressive 405,000 album units in North America, surpassing Swift’s own record with 368,000 traditional album sales in one week. This milestone marks the album’s 16th non-consecutive week at No. 1, cementing its legacy as one of the most dominant records in Billboard history. Earlier this year, the album broke Whitney Houston’s 1987 record for the longest No. 1 streak by a female artist, a feat unmatched in decades.

Trailing behind Swift’s latest triumph are Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, the Wicked soundtrack, Juice WRLD’s The Party Never Ends, and Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet.

This achievement comes hot on the heels of the final leg of Taylor’s historic Eras Tour, which concluded with back-to-back performances at Vancouver’s BC Place stadium. Gracie Abrams opened the three sold-out shows, while Swift wowed fans with her revamped setlist featuring tracks from TTPD. The three-hour spectacle, filled with 40 songs and breathtaking costume changes, has already cemented its place as one of the most iconic tours in music history.

Swift also treated her fans to additional surprises during the European leg of her tour, including six new songs and fresh on-stage outfits. Her dedication was evident when she revealed in Paris that, despite a two-month break in the tour schedule, she and her team had gone straight into rehearsals to perfect the production for TTPD.

Plenty of celebrities, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Gigi Hadid, attended the shows, further fueling the buzz around the record-breaking tour. Swift also extended her success off the stage with the release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film and book, both smashing records like their creator.

After dominating the charts and the stage, Taylor is reportedly planning a well-deserved year-long break to spend time with her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. However, if history is any indication, the queen of reinvention may just surprise us all with her next move.
