The German-based sales and distribution powerhouse confirmed the departure of Ritter, who served as Executive Vice President, Acquisitions, Sales and Marketing, in an announcement made on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Ritter was a crucial figure in shaping Beta Cinema’s portfolio, known for his ability to identify and champion critically acclaimed, content-driven films for the global market. In a statement, Ritter reflected on his time, saying, “It has been a great privilege to accompany so many outstanding films on their journey into the world… Now feels like the right moment to open a new chapter.”
Beta Cinema CEO Dirk Schürhoff expressed his thanks, commending Ritter for his “exceptionally good, long-standing cooperation, his great commitment, [and] loyalty.” Before joining Beta in 2012, Ritter was a co-founder of the Oldenburg International Film Festival and previously held a top role at Bavaria Film International, working on hits like Good Bye, Lenin!.
