TikToker Peller Apologizes After Calling Runtown an “Up-and-Coming Artist”

Popular TikToker Peller has eaten his words and publicly apologized after sparking controversy by referring to Nigerian Afrobeats star Runtown as an “up-and-coming artist.”

During a recent livestream, Peller dismissed a co-streamer’s suggestion of featuring Runtown, implying that the singer was unknown and irrelevant. The statement didn’t sit well with fans, who flooded social media to drag him mercilessly for disrespecting a key figure in the Afrobeats movement.

Peller Bows to Pressure, Admits His Mistake

Facing intense backlash, Peller has now apologized, acknowledging that he knows who Runtown isbut was too young to appreciate his dominance when he was topping charts.

Speaking in a livestream with Elizabeth Amoudu, he said:

“When I was hearing Runtown’s music that time, I was too young to even use a phone. Peller never come town when Runtown dey Runtown. Please, forgive the poor boy. Let him breathe. God won’t shame us. I’m sorry, my brothers and sisters.”

While some fans have accepted his apology, others feel he should have done his research before making such an ignorant statement about a well-established artist.

What do you think? Should Peller be forgiven, or did he cross the line? Share your thoughts in the comments!
