In one of the most unexpected football-meets-hip-hop crossovers of 2025, legendary football manager Tony Pulis has offered some straight-talking advice to rap icon Snoop Dogg — despite admitting he has no idea what the West Coast rapper actually sings.
The 67-year-old Welshman, known for his no-nonsense managerial style at clubs like Stoke City, Crystal Palace, and West Brom, weighed in on the recent news that Snoop Dogg and Luka Modric have become investors at Championship side Swansea City.
Speaking to BetVictor, Pulis made it clear he’d have “no issues” with Snoop’s involvement — but only under one condition: the rapper shouldn’t interfere with football matters. “Would I be pleased if someone like that came into a football club? Yeah,” he said. “As long as they didn’t poke their nose in and start picking the team, picking the players, and picking the tactics, it’d be no issues to me.”
While Snoop’s music career includes iconic collaborations with Dr. Dre, Katy Perry, and Justin Timberlake, not to mention a reggae phase and a Just Eat jingle, Pulis admitted, “Snoop Dogg, I don’t even know what he sings!”
Snoop Dogg’s recent involvement with Swansea was announced alongside Modric, with the pair even immortalised on a mural at the Swansea.com Stadium. The club has embraced its new celebrity backers with a bold rebrand, and Snoop has already been spotted promoting their new 2025/26 kit.
Still, Pulis had high praise for Luka Modric, calling him “a top, top player” and “a fantastic lad.” As for Snoop, the message was clear: enjoy the ride, but leave the tactics to the professionals.
Swansea will begin their new Championship campaign next weekend against Middlesbrough, with fans eager to see what this new era of star-studded ownership brings.
