Twitch Star Kai Cenat Asks Elon Musk to Help Him Stream from Space

Popular Twitch streamer and YouTuber Kai Cenat has made an ambitious request to Elon Musk, asking the SpaceX and Tesla CEO to help him achieve a groundbreaking feat—becoming the first person to live-stream from space. Cenat, known for his engaging and often controversial streams, made his bold request during a live Twitch session and later posted it on Musk’s platform, X (formerly Twitter).

On day nine of his “Mafiathon 2” subathon stream, Cenat chatted with friends about the possibility of going to space, declaring, “I want to be the first [person] to go to space and say ‘Yo chat!’” He acknowledged the risks involved, stating,

They said there is a 3-5% chance of dying. But, I’m not going to lie, that is a chance I am willing to take.

Cenat followed up his live discussion by reaching out to Musk on X, writing, “Hey Elon, I would like to be the first streamer to stream & say ‘YO CHAT’ from space. I believe you are the only person that can help me achieve this goal, let’s make history.” The post quickly went viral, amassing over 2.5 million views and 73,000 likes, although Musk has yet to respond publicly.

Cenat, who won “Streamer of the Year” at the 2022 Streamy Awards, has become known for pushing boundaries on his channel. His record-breaking 2023 stream gained massive attention as he live-streamed continuously for a month, capturing everything from his daily activities to sleeping on camera. However, the streamer has faced several controversies, including temporary bans for rule violations involving marijuana use, inappropriate language, and accidentally showing nudity during a live session.

Cenat’s goal of live-streaming from space, if realized, would be a historical first, underscoring the continued convergence of technology, entertainment, and social media. Fans now await a potential response from Musk, who is known for supporting ambitious tech-driven ventures.
