Wydad AC & Al Ain Crashed Out of 2025 Club World Cup After Heavy Defeats

Wydad AC and Al Ain are officially out of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after suffering back-to-back losses in Group G, making them the latest teams to exit the tournament.

The Moroccan giants, Wydad AC, were first beaten 2-0 by Manchester City, before being routed 4-1 by Juventus on Sunday. Their lack of cutting edge and defensive fragility have now condemned them to an early exit.

Meanwhile, Al Ain of the UAE endured an even more brutal campaign. They opened with a 5-0 demolition at the hands of Juventus, only to be hammered 6-0 by Manchester City in their second game.

Group G Qualification

The results mean Manchester City and Juventus have secured qualification to the knockout rounds, comfortably dominating the group with clinical performances.

Wydad and Al Ain, now mathematically eliminated, will face each other in their final group game on Thursday, with only pride on the line.

Already Eliminated Teams

The two sides now join a growing list of clubs already knocked out of the expanded Club World Cup, including:

  • Ulsan HD
  • Auckland City
  • Los Angeles FC
  • Pachuca
  • Urawa Red Diamonds

As the competition progresses, all eyes will now be on the knockout rounds, with European powerhouses like City and Juventus showing dominant early form.
